The top-selling boat in her class during most of the 1980s, Like so many Silverton models before or since, the 34’s super-competitive price was her most compelling feature, and she quickly became known as a lot of boat for the money. Built on the same solid fiberglass hull as her predecessor, galley-down interiors were available, one with a double berth in the forward stateroom and the other with V-berths. A lower helm was a popular option, and large wraparound windows allowed tons of natural lighting to be seen throughout the salon and galley areas. While the Silverton 34 was an inexpensive boat with low-cost furnishings and so-so fit and finish, there’s much to admire in her efficient use of space and impressive list of standard equipment. The cockpit is large enough for occasional fishing adventures, and four-person seating is provided on the flybridge. Additional features include a roomy engine room, expansive side decks, a bow pulpit, and teak interior accents. Crusader 270hp gas engines cruise at 16–18 knots (mid to high 20s top).
